One Big Experiment with Public Art:
Socrates Sculpture Park

Web | Social | Email

Socrates Sculpture Park is a small, but mighty public park in Queens, New York. Dreamed up by artist Mark di Suvero in the 1980s, the park now showcases multiple large scale installations each year and serves the community with a host of public programs.

Each year, Socrates Sculpture Park brings together artists, funding partners, and supporters for an annual gala. The gala is not only a celebration of the park itself, but of the artist honorees and their work.

In 2025, I helped Socrates team develop a suite of materials for a very special gala that celebrated the opening of their new permanent office space brought to life by LOT-EK. The office is a sculpture in and of itself and I pulled inspiration from its many angular windows to create the gala’s design language across email, social, web, and on-site signage.
